Lot going on in the world of Mike V looks like his feet are firmly planted on the [DIY] side of the fence, I for one am stoked for him.
“By The Sword is an act of necessity. I’m going into the garage and I’m doing it my way and I’m not asking for anyone’s permission. Corporate Skateboarding sucks. It sucks because it’s soulless. See, I still love and value skateboarding and know it to be a profound and sacred experience. I’ve always been about this as a professional skateboarder but I’ve also always had to navigate my way through sponsorship deals that haven’t always lined up with who I am and what I represent. Those days are over. Win, lose or draw I’m doing what I’m doing for fun, so really, I can’t lose.”

Steve Rod sent me this pic and update about the banks of brooklyn bridge being offline till 2o14. Seems like such a long way into the future we maybe hitting that place with hover boards.
Anyway hats off to Steve he didnt leave the battle field without entering into combat, so thats cool to me. Been sitting on this Steve Rod pic for sometime,looks like the time is now.

I had time to squeeze in the 2nd Annual History of East Coast Skate Summit (You may recall the first) Rest assure that myself and former “Earth Surfer” proprietor and Architect extraordinaire Jeffrey Turko spent the afternoon setting the world to rights…so no more worries, all is well. Looks like I might have skipped a year there but it was almost 2009 when I had the first pow-wow.
