588: Mondays with Mike Episode Number 6- Best ever?
May 24, 2010
OK……..
Mike V, Larry R and Mike C have knocked the cover off the ball with this episode….If you have not been tuning into Monday’s with Mike (The title kinda says it all) then you are missing out. Mike V, Kristian Svitak and Ben Raybourn are my 2010 Bones Brigade. Not to mention Larry and Mike C are the new Stacey and Stecyk.
In this episode…Lucy V intro’s..Mike V kills it…Kristian does one crazy trick and Ben Raybourn pulls a Steve Steadham to fakie with no pads…somehow BR not making the cut is way better then seeing him win with a Helmet and glasses on.
Oh Yeah and 3:50! Maaaaaaaaan!
Great Stuff…

We have all spent a lot of time at this place pre and post off ramp spiked fence….I lived 5 minutes from the Brooklyn Bridge Banks for 12 years and spent almost a year walking through there twice a day on my way over the bridge to a DUMBO art studio I established…..I for one was never able to ollie the highway divider (or any divider for that matter) its hard to believe Mike Vallely was undettered by that devil’s pitchfork of a barrier and conquered it. I will leave anymore to be said about the place to Mike…he says it best.
Thanks to Larry Ransom for this bang up mini documentary and Mike for Mik’ing

Back when I started skating no one videotaped anything ever. We just skated and did what we did, not for any other reason except that we had to. Very little of my early days on a skateboard were ever documented and whatever was documented didn’t always survive. Now, some 23 years later this VHS tape surfaces of me and my friends skating on a winter’s day back in 1985 and man is it refreshing. These were crucial times; before I was sponsored, before I started traveling the world, before I turned pro. This video shows me and my friends skating for the pure love and excitement of it all. Just a bunch of punks having fun in the shit hole towns of Woodbridge, New Brunswick and Edison, NJ.
Enjoy!
